Communication to all Nurses

Dear Nurse,

I am writing to clarify the position of when FFP3 masks will be worn and when not.
FFP3 masks will now only be worn when in High-Risk Areas which are now identified as ICU/ITU/HDU or when the patient is undergoing aerosol-generating procedures (any setting). If you work in the named high-risk areas you must be fit mask tested.
All Trusts are now using this updated information.
All suspected or confirmed COVID 19 patients will now be cared for using standard infection control procedures. I  have attached the table which shows the PPE you use in general and specialist areas.
